Council of Economic Advisers
The Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) was established by the Employment Act of 1946 to provide the President with objective economic analysis and advice on the development and implementation of a wide range of domestic and international economic policy issues.

Council on Environmental Quality
The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) coordinates federal environmental efforts and works closely with agencies and other White House offices in the development of environmental policies and initiatives. The Council's Chair, who is appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate, serves as the principal environmental policy adviser to the President. In addition, CEQ reports annually to the President on the state of the environment; oversees federal agency implementation of the environmental impact assessment process; and acts as a referee when agencies disagree over the adequacy of such assessments.

National Economic Council
The National Economic Council (NEC) was established in 1993 within the Office of Policy Development and is part of the Executive Office of the President. It was created for the purpose of advising the President on matters related to U.S. and global economic policy.

National Security Council
The National Security Council is the President's principal forum for considering national security and foreign policy matters with his senior national security advisors and cabinet officials. Since its inception under President Truman, the function of the Council has been to advise and assist the President on national security and foreign policies. The Council also serves as the President's principal arm for coordinating these policies among various government agencies.

Office of Administration
The Office of Administration's mission is to provide administrative services to all entities of the Executive Office of the President (EOP), including direct support services to the President of the United States. The services include financial management and information technology support, human resources management, library and research assistance, facilities management, procurement, printing and graphics support, security, and mail and messenger operations. The Director of the agency oversees the submission of the annual EOP Budget Request and represents the agency before congressional funding panels.

Office of Management and Budget
The general functions of the Office of Management and Budget, as provided by statute and executive order, are to develop and execute the budget, oversee implementation of Administration policies and programs, advise and assist the President, and develop and implement management policies for the government. OMB has a hand in the development and resolution of all budget, policy, legislative, regulatory, procurement, and management issues on behalf of the President. OMB is composed of divisions organized either by Agency and program area or by functional responsibilities. However, the work of OMB often requires a broad exposure to issues and programs outside of the direct area of assigned responsibility.

Office of National AIDS Policy
The Office of National AIDS Policy focuses on coordinating continuing domestic efforts to reduce the number of new infections in the U.S., in particular in segments of the population that are experiencing new or renewed increases in the rate of infection. In addition, the Office will be working to coordinate an increasingly integrated approach to the prevention, care and treatment of HIV/AIDS. The office will also emphasize the integration of domestic and international efforts to combat HIV/AIDS.

Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP)
The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), a component of the Executive Office of the President, was established by the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988. The principal purpose of ONDCP is to establish policies, priorities, and objectives for the Nation's drug control program. The goals of the program are to reduce illicit drug use, manufacturing, and trafficking, drug-related crime and violence, and drug-related health consequences. Office of Science and Technology Policy
In 1976, the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) was created to provide the President with timely policy advice and to coordinate the science and technology investment. OSTP has assumed a prominent role in advancing fundamental science, education and scientific literacy, investment in applied research, and international cooperation.

President's Council on Sustainable Development
Formed by Executive Order in 1993, the President's Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD) advises the President on sustainable development and develops bold, new approaches to achieve economic, environmental, and equity goals by forging consensus on policy, demonstrating implementation, making the public aware of policy, and evaluating and reporting national progress.

The President's Intelligence Advisory Board and Intelligence Oversight Board (PIAB) (formerly the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board - PFIAB) provides advice to the President concerning the quality and adequacy of intelligence collection, of analysis and estimates, of counterintelligence, and of other intelligence activities. The PFIAB, through its Intelligence Oversight Board, also advises the President on the legality of foreign intelligence activities.

United State Trade Representative
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) is responsible for developing and coordinating U.S. international trade, commodity, and direct investment policy, and leading or directing negotiations with other countries on such matters. The U.S. Trade Representative is a Cabinet member who serves as the President's principal trade advisor, negotiator, and spokesperson on trade and related investment matters.
